CHED-PCARI new cycle of request for proposals

CHED-PCARI is pleased to announce a new cycle of request for proposals (RFPs) for funding.

The Philippine-California Advanced Research Institutes (PCARI) Project is a project of the Philippine government’s Commission on Higher Education (CHED), in collaboration with California-based and leading Philippine academic institutions, to establish a platform for capacity-building of Philippine Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) by way of collaborative research.

Projects to be funded under this announcement are expected to be either in the priority areas of information infrastructure development and health innovation and translational medicine to be undertaken jointly by collaborating eligible HEIs.

Proposals must address a significant societal problem and have the potential to bring about and sustain technology transfer or commercialization activities. For this cycle, proposals are encouraged in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Agriculture, Food Processing, Nutrition, Marine and Aquatic Sciences related to Health Innovation & Translational Medicine, and Information Infrastructure Development.

A pre-condition for the approval of the proposals is for these to be undertaken in collaboration with a university in California, U.S.A., such as the University of California-Berkeley (UCB), the University of California-San Francisco (UCSF), the University of California-Davis (UCD) and the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA).
Submissions must be received electronically by the PCARI Secretariat at proposals.pcariproject@ched .gov.ph on or before 31 July 2017, 11:59 PM, Manila time, PDT).
