In Summer of 2021, the United Nations published an extensive report on the main causes and major implications of climate change. As a response, member states of the UN pushed for an international approach to climate change collaboration as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. UP advances to 65th in THE Asia University Rankings

The University of the Philippines rose 30 places to 65th in the 2020 Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings, further securing its position as one of the leading universities in the region. It is one of the five Southeast Asian institutions and the only university from the Philippines that figured in the top 100. A total of 489 institutions made it to the rankings.
