Call for Papers: 7th Biennial Conference on Korean Studies

The Korean Studies Association of Southeast Asia invites papers for presentation at its 7th Biennial International Conference to be hosted by the University of the Philippines, in collaboration with the Academy of Korean Studies, at Novotel Manila, Araneta Center, Quezon City, Philippines and at the UP Diliman campus on 28-30 September 2016. This three-day biennial session will host a group of major university scholars from eight Southeast Asian countries.

The conference aims to critically engage important and urgent issues that influence and steer contemporary Korean society, economy and culture, seen from a Southeast Asian perspective. 

Proposals are welcome for papers on all aspects of Korean economic development, business and public sector reform, culture and media studies, social changes/development, and the humanities. Comparative studies are welcome as well.

The deadline for submission of abstracts is Sunday, 10 April 2016.

Successful applicants will be notified by mid-April and will be required to send the complete paper of 10,000 to 12,000 words by 15 August 2016.

The papers will be published in the conference proceedings. Selected papers will be given an opportunity to be published in various Korean journals.
