The Symposium was attended by professors from various Universities. The papers presented focused on the key issues confronted by women who are either formally or informally employed. The symposium served as a venue to discuss and assess the situation of working women in the Pacific region and beyond. It also served as venue to foster collaborative pursuits among the participants from different Universities and organizations.

The second Women, Work and Collectivism Symposium was an event sponsored by the Association of Industrial Relations Academics of Australia and New Zealand. It was a very fruitful symposium which was attended by professors from various Universities. The grantee was the one only participant from the Philippines. Only small group of paper wase considered for presentation at the Symposium and her research on The Domestic Workers Act of the Philippines: A Policy Analysis was chosen to be part of the programme.
