The Philippine-California Advanced Research Institutes (PCARI) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) of the Republic of the Philippines is pleased to announce a new cycle of Request for Proposals (RFPs) for funding involving research projects in the priority areas of information infrastructure development ,and health innovation and translational medicine.
In support of this goal, two PCARI institutes representing key technology areas have been established: (1) the Institute for Information Infrastructure Development, and (2) the Institute for Health Innovation and Translational Medicine.
Research project proposals must be developed and undertaken jointly by collaborating eligible HEIs in the Philippines and California. The project proposals must address a significant societal problem and have the potential to bring about and sustain technology transfer or commercialization activities. Research results are expected to solve Philippine needs and present strong potential to benefit Philippine society through improvement of the Philippine economy and improvement in the quality of life of Filipinos particularly the poor, marginalized and vulnerable sectors.
Research project proposals will be accepted from the California-based HEIs; and the CHED Centers of Excellence/Development (COE/COD), and member universities of the National Science Consortium (NSC) and Department of Science and Technology-Engineering Research and Development for Technology (DOST-ERDT). Other Philippine HEIs are encouraged to participate by linking with a CHED COE/COD or DOST- ERDT or NSC member institution.
