The 13th APRU Multi-Hazards Symposium 2017, to be held on 28-29 August 2017 at Peking University, will concentrate on how to combine governance and state-of-the-art science and technology for more efficient disaster risk reduction.
The Pacific Rim is never short of earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, landslides, volcanic eruptions and bush fires, and the historic disaster events indicated that government could and should play a more important role in coping with these natural hazards. Association of academia with governance on public education, infrastructure construction, disaster management, emergency rescue and hazard recovery will be the next “hot” point in the field of disaster risk reduction.
To register and/or submit an abstract, click here. All papers (oral and poster presentations) will be compiled in the proceedings. The requirement on word count is 250–300 words. Abstract submission will close on 30 June 2017.
Student participants are also invited to enter the Student Paper Competition. To register and/or submit a paper, click here. Six finalists will be selected by a committee to earn awards and will have the chance to present their papers at the symposium. All papers (oral and poster presentations) will be compiled in the proceedings. The requirement on word count is 2500–3500 words. Full paper submission for student paper competition will close on 30 June 2017.
